Challenge
Promote a running event to launch the new line of Adidas UltraBOOST sneakers, transforming physical activity into energy to light up a digital installation.
Solution
Producing and storing kinetic energy is a major challenge. When we are urged to innovate with an open brief, we start to idealize the viable paths that are most interesting for the project concept, until we end up with the exact idea of what we should produce. Thinking creatively about the solution is enriching because we manage to combine design and technology, arriving at a charming solution that brings together the best of each skill.
We created the Adidas baton that lights up as participants progress through the race. The more steps they take towards the finish line, the more lights are lit on the baton. At the end of the race, participants placed their batons in an art installation, forming a huge panel that conveyed the Adidas UltraBOOST concept.
